What have we been up to…
Since officially coming together in late 2020, our founding team has been actively advocating for a kinder approach to the law—one that values connection, accountability, and early intervention. We’ve been particularly focused on supporting the “next gen” of lawyers. Our teammates who lecture at universities have been inviting the founding team to contribute to lectures and speak with students about reimagining legal practice from a kinder perspective.
Beyond the classroom, we’ve contributed to blogs, articles, and books, and continued to share our thinking in meaningful and practical ways.
In 2021, we were honoured to receive a Peacemaker's Award in recognition of our work. In 2022, we presented on Kindness: The Secret Weapon in a Lawyer’s Toolkit at events hosted by the ACT and regional NSW Law Societies. In 2023, we took the TKL movement national with our sell-out inaugural and first-of-its-kind forum in the ACT for over 150 delegates from all over Australia.
In 2024 and 2025, we’ve continued to step up. Pepe has been invited to deliver keynote and plenary presentations and workshops for Pacifica Congress, FLENA, the Australian Association of Collaborative Professionals (AACP), the Queensland Association of Collaborative Professionals (QAACP), and Smokeball. She will also be an international plenary speaker at the CLE New Zealand National Family Law Conference in October 2025, and has been invited to present in Singapore and the USA.
Jono has been instrumental in working with the College of Law to integrate kindness into the PLT curriculum. Other teammates have presented at the Australian Women Lawyers Association in 2024.
2025 also saw us transition to a Not-for-Profit and welcome our Advisory Board and new directors, and our first patron, Her Honour, Justice Chrissa Loukas-Karlsson of the ACT Supreme Court.
We would love for you to join us on this journey—to leave the practice of law a little better than we found it.
